Happy New Year, everybody!
Welcome to the very first post on the Author FI Life blog.
I figured that the new year would be a great time to kick off the new site. Things are pretty sparse around here right now, but that’s ok.
The FI in Author FI Life stands for Financial Independence. A goal that I believe every working person should be trying to achieve. I’ll write more about this in future posts.
I’m not there yet, but I will be one day. I know that I know that I know this.
Like my FI status, this site is a work in progress.
So, what is this Author FI Life site all about?
It’s the record of my journey to FI while trying to build my career as an author. I’ll be sharing all that I’m learning from my fellow FI community and from my own trials and errors.
What does financial independence mean to me?
We’ll get to that in depth in an upcoming blog post, but to me it means “job optional”. I work because I want to work (for a variety of reasons), but could quit and live off my savings and investments for the rest of my life.
What to expect?
My initial goal is to put up a new post once a week. I’ll adjust if that doesn’t work out.
My hope is that I encourage my fellow authors to reach for financial independence in their own lives as they reach for their writing goals.
I hope that you’re able to follow along with me on this journey.
